Woman in Folsom Suffers At The Hands of Gynecologist-Turned-Plastic Surgeon
If you are considering the breast augmentation Pittsburgh friends are urging you to get, you may want to take great care in choosing your doctor and making sure he or she is 100% certified to do the work you want. Women are on the alert thanks to a recent case in Folsom where a woman was given breast implants by a man who claimed to be a plastic surgeon. However, when she suffered strange pain during the surgery and then found that beneath her bandages her breasts looked deformed, she contacted the doctor, who offered to give her her money back for the botched procedure.
Some research on Dr. Efrain Gonzalez turned up startling results. Gonzalez did in fact not have a license to practice plastic surgery at all, but instead was a gynecologist who had his license revoked by the medical board in 2006 for practicing plastic surgeries without a board certification. Court documents even show that Gonzalez could possibly be responsible for the death of one of his previous patients.
Gonzalez said he feels as if plastic surgeons “monopolize” the field and that he sees no reason he can’t teach himself with “on-the-job” training. Of course, this training is on patients who have no idea he doesn’t have a license to practice. A search of his name on Google shows very little information about botched surgeries, which is bad news for clients who may be searching for information about him.
Plastic surgery is a major procedure that costs a good deal of money, and there’s no reason you shouldn’t feel comfortable to ask a lot of questions, including your doctor’s credentials. For a breast augmentation Pittsburgh residents can rely on to be safe and attractive, investigate your local options and make sure you feel absolutely at ease before moving forward.
